I am a lesbian block print artist, poet, farmer, and occasional songwriter from Massachusetts. I often chew on the grief, love, surprises, and changes this life can pull us through, or we pull our life through.
CROWSFELL originated in song in 2019

CROWSFELL became a vessel for documenting my block printing and poetry endeavors. My block printing is recognizable by the coffee dyed second hand cotton and linen I print on, the individually carved and printed letters, reverence for the nature I grew up surrounded by, and some probing questions. CROWSFELL finds its form in patches, tapestries, cards, zines, custom clothing, wrapping paper, and anything else my heart cooks up. I aim for it to feel like a hug from the setting I have long contemplated within.

thimblefree - After moving abroad with my partner at 25 I find myself needing a bridge to understanding my expanding artist identity. Where CROWSFELL feels perfectly fit at home in Massachusetts, I want Thimblefree to feel natural in the wider world. I want something that will connect me to myself across oceans, continents, and language while giving ample space for integrating everything that is new to me. Like sewing without a thimble, it is practice in ungaurded creation. For now its form is in a weekly(ish) newsletter hosted on Substack.
